Fernanda Arruda, Ph.D.

Dr. Arruda is a licensed Psychologist in her native country, Brazil. She completed her B.S. in Psychology at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro in 2008 and moved to the United States in 2016 where she got her M.A. in Psychology and her Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology/ Neuropsychology from Florida Atlantic University. In Brazil, Dr. Arruda used Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to treat individuals with anxiety and mood disorders in individual and group format. In Brazil, she also performed for several years as a Neuropsychologist working with children, adolescents and adults with neurological conditions impacting their cognitive functioning such as cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injury, stroke, and dementia. 

Dr. Arruda has been a part of the NBI team since March 2022. She is working on the requirements to become a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst and is practicing under the supervision of a BCBA. Dr. Arruda helps her clients improve social skills and executive functioning skills to live a more fulfilling and independent life.
