Dr. Amitai Abramovitch, PhD

Chief Clinical Officer & Founder

Dr. Abramovitch is a licensed clinical neuropsychologist and an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Texas at Austin. He is also a research affiliate at the Center for OCD and Related Disorders (CORD) at Massachusetts General Hospital.

 

His prior experience includes serving as a Research Fellow in the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, teaching at Harvard University, and, most recently, holding a tenured position as an Associate Professor of Clinical Psychology at Texas State University, where he founded and directed the Neuropsychology and Psychopathology Lab.

Dr. Abramovitch has published over 70 peer-reviewed manuscripts and book chapters and serves on several journal editorial boards. He holds several leadership positions including Associate Editor roles for several journals, including the Journal of Obsessive-Compulsive and Related Disorders. Dr. Abramovitch’s primary research interests include the neuropsychology and cognitive neuroscience of obsessive-compulsive and related disorders, and the impact of psychopathology on cognitive functioning. He has also developed and published several self-report measures for adult and pediatric OCD, and for Tourette’s Syndrome.

 

Additionally, he is interested in the transition of OCD from childhood to adulthood and the effectiveness of exposure and response prevention (ExRP) treatment for OCD in real-world private practice settings. In his private practice, Dr. Abramovitch provides empirically supported psychotherapy and specialized neuropsychological assessments.
