Vanessa Alarcon, Psy.D.

Vanessa Alarcon is a Postdoctoral Resident at NBI. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology at Florida State University, as well as earned her Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling at Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Alarcon obtained her Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology at Albizu University and completed her doctoral internship at the Goodman Psychological Services Center.

 

Dr. Alarcon is a bilingual, English and Spanish speaking clinician, and provides individual, family, and group therapy. She has clinical experience in providing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to culturally diverse children, adolescents, and adults with a myriad of psychological conditions in outpatient and residential settings.

 

Dr. Alarcon also has specialized clinical training in neurocognitive disorders and disordered eating and in conducting neuropsychological, psychoeducational, and psychological evaluations. Dr. Alarcon is certified in Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and has been licensed as a Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) since 2015.

 

She highly values a collaborative team approach to assessing and treating mental health issues within a context of awareness of their cultural and individual experiences.
