Wilfredo Rivera, Psy.D.
Wilfredo Rivera-Pérez, is a licensed psychologist in the state of Florida. Dr. Rivera completed graduate school at Carlos Albizu University (formerly the Miami Institute of Psychology) where he earned a Masters of Science Degree in Psychology and later a Doctor of Psychology Degree in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.), graduating with distinction. Dr. Rivera completed the Pre-Doctoral Internship at the Goodman Psychological Services Center, where he provided psychotherapy services in English and Spanish to a culturally diverse population with a variety of psychological conditions. Dr. Rivera worked with children, adults, couples, and families using the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy model. He also conducted psychological and psychoeducational testing evaluations, provided ongoing crisis intervention, and consultation among Pre-Doctoral Psychology Interns.
Dr. Rivera later completed two years of Post-Doctoral Psychology Residency training at the Neurobehavioral Institute in Weston. During his residency, Dr. Rivera provided psychological interventions to severe cases of OCD, GAD, and Tics (among other conditions). In addition to providing psychological services, Dr. Rivera is involved in the development of therapeutic interventions for the intensive program. His areas of interest include diagnostic and treatment of mental disorders, individual, couples, and group therapy, supervision, suicide risk assessment, and drama based interventions.
