Michele Bechor, Ph.D.

Michele Bechor, Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist in Florida and Connecticut. Dr. Bechor earned her Doctorate and master’s degrees in clinical science in Child and Adolescent Psychology and her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Florida International University (FIU), where is also completed her predoctoral clinical. She completed her postdoctoral residency at NBI.

Dr. Bechor specializes in evidence-based practices for primary anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and related disorders, body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs, e.g., skin picking and hair pulling), tics and behavioral parent training in children and adults, and treats conditions such as Tourette’s Disorder, attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder, autism spectrum disorder, mood disorders, and personality disorders. She completed advanced training in treatment for BFRBs and graduated from TLC Foundation’s Virtual Professional Training Institute. She completed intensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) training with Behavioral Tech.

 

Dr. Bechor’s primary treatment modalities include exposure and response prevention, cognitive-behavioral therapy, DBT, ComB, parent training, family therapy and. She conducts Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics, an evidence-based intervention for children and adults. 

Dr. Bechor is a Qualified Supervisor in Florida). She supervises NBI’s postdoctoral residents and Registered Mental Health Clinical Interns. Currently, she serves as an Early Career Psychologist member on the Continuing Education Committee of the Florida Psychological Association. She plans to pursue board certification in cognitive and behavioral psychology through the American Board of Professional Psychology.
