Sarah Gaumer, Psy.D.
Sarah Gaumer is a Predoctoral Resident who attended Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida where she earned her Master’s degree (M.S.) and Doctorate degree (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology. Most of her clinical experience is providing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to trauma victims, child and adolescents, older adults, and those with severe mental illness. She has also provided court ordered therapy services (ex: parent education training, domestic violence counseling, individual therapy), as well as supportive therapy to the geriatric and severe mental health population living in assisted living facilities. Additionally, she is versed in various areas of psychological testing including providing psychological, psychoeducational, and neuropsychological evaluations. She emphasizes the importance of the therapeutic relationship and belief is it the most important aspect of the therapeutic process. Thus, she places great importance on connecting with her clients and assuring they feel safe and supported, her treatment style is interpersonal focused with a strong emphasis on the cognitive behavioral therapeutic framework.
