undefinedMs. Machado is a Pre-Doctoral Intern at the Neurobehavioral Institute (NBI) in Weston. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Sciences from the University of Florida where she participated in research focused on early child development. Ms. Machado completed her doctoral training in Clinical Psychology at Nova Southeastern University where she earned her Masters in Science Degree in Psychology and is working towards her Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in Health.

Throughout her graduate studies, she received training in psychoeducational and neuropsychological assessment for children and adolescents, evidence-based cognitive-behavioral interventions for youths with behavior disorders and psychodiagnostic assessment services for a variety of age groups in community and medical settings. She completed her thesis on the neurocognitive deficits in children with Sickle Cell Disease and the implications on academic attainment. Throughout her graduate training, Ms. Machado contributed to a variety of research projects concerning scale development, academic attainment in chronically ill children and the development of a pediatric psychiatry consultation program in integrated medical settings. She is currently completing her doctoral dissertation on the psychometric functioning of a parent-report behavior rating scale in Hispanic populations using Modern Test Theory Analyses.

Ms. Machado completed her Pre-Doctoral Internship in Pediatric Psychology at Metro Health Hospital in Cleveland where she provided psychological services in English and Spanish to a diverse pediatric patient population experiencing psychological distress in combination with chronic medical health conditions, medical trauma, developmental disability, traumatic brain injury, neurological disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, extreme poverty, and gender dysphoria. During her time at Metro Health, she trained in the administration of the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule-2 and a variety of developmental screening tools in an integrated Autism Clinic and engaged in bi-directional teaching with medical residents in pediatric primary care. She also received specialized training in the provision of psychological services for transgender youth, suicide risk assessment and crisis management, infant mental health and neuropsychological assessment of children with neurological disorders.

Currently, Ms. Machado provides psychological testing, and Autism assessment and diagnostic services for children, adolescents and adults at NBI. Ms. Machado works under the supervision of senior licensed psychologists at NBI and hopes to transition to a Post-Doctoral Resident focused on testing and Autism services pending the completion of her doctoral dissertation.
