Joyce A. Szentpaly, Psy.D., is a licensed psychologist in the state of Florida. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Florida International University earning her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. From there, she completed graduate school at Carlos Albizu University (formerly the Miami Institute of Psychology) where she earned her Masters of Science Degree in Psychology and later her Doctor of Psychology Degree in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.), graduating with distinction.
Dr. Szentpaly completed her Pre-Doctoral Internship at the Goodman Psychological Services Center, where she provided psychotherapy services in English and Spanish to a culturally diverse population with a variety of psychological conditions. She worked with children, adults, couples, and families using the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy model. Dr. Szentpaly also conducted psychological and psychoeducational testing evaluations, provided ongoing crisis intervention, and consultation among Pre-Doctoral Psychology Interns. Additionally, Dr. Szentpaly provided a leadership role as Chief Pre-Doctoral Intern, providing mentorship to graduate students in clinical psychology, being responsible for administrative tasks, and liaison between interns and clinical supervisors.
Dr. Szentpaly later completed her Post-Doctoral Psychology Residency training at the Institute for Child and Family Health (ICFH). During her residency, she provided psychological interventions while working with a multidisciplinary team of professionals, including psychiatrists, mental health counselors, social workers, teachers, and case managers. Interventions included individual and family therapy, parenting skills training, and psychological evaluations.
Dr. Szentpaly is a passionate practitioner in the filed of clinical psychology, who has maintained an active practice in therapy and assessment. Her areas of interest include diagnostic and treatment of mental disorders, individual, couples, and group therapy, supervision, and consultation in the mental health field. Dr. Szentpaly is devoted to providing quality care to clients and communities she work with.
