Audrey Baumeister, Ph.D.

Provisionally Licensed Psychologist

Dr. Audrey Baumeister attended the University of Florida for her undergraduate studies where she participated in research and authored publications under the Department of Psychiatry, which has specialized in the treatment of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder for over twenty years.  As a doctoral student at Louisiana State University her specializations included parent training, assessment and treatment related to Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and Learning Disabilities, as well as group counseling for teens. Dr. Baumeister’s graduate research, master’s thesis and dissertation were funded by a grant from the National Institute of Mental Health, and examined the effects of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder on children affected by Hurricane Katrina.  While attending Louisiana State University, Dr. Baumeister also authored publications regarding the assessment and treatment of neuropsychological disorders.  Following graduate school, Dr. Baumeister completed her internship at the University of Florida where she conducted neuropsychological assessments of children and adults, and provided parent training and therapy to children and adults with various medical illnesses such as type 1 Diabetes and Cystic Fibrosis.  Dr. Baumeister remained with the University of Florida’s Department of Psychiatry as a postdoctoral associate where she provided therapy, as well as consultation, to physicians regarding the psychological health of their patients.  She was also an instructor in the Interdisciplinary Family Health program where she facilitated group discussions regarding multidisciplinary healthcare and interpersonal communication skills among first year medical, nursing, and dental students. Currently, as a postdoctoral associate at NeuroBehavioral Institute, Dr. Baumeister specializes in the areas of Anxiety Disorders and parent training.
